Aquarium CO2 Systems
If you have a planted aquarium, you will want to investigate CO2 Systems.
CO2 systems are a basic staple for heavily planted tanks, as the tanks
require CO2 to survive. If you do not have fish, then you will have no
creatures within the tank that produce this naturally, so you will need an
artificial method of creating the required gas.
There are two primary types of CO2 systems. These are high pressure systems
and low pressure systems. High pressure systems are the most common and the
safest to use. By using a regulator on a canister of CO2, the system pushes
CO2 into the aquarium water so your plants can photosynthesize. Low pressure
systems try to control CO2 at a lower pressure, which has been proven to be
less stable. On account of this, many stores no longer sell these systems,
as they can be dangerous.
If you are looking to purchase CO2 systems, there are several things that
you need to keep in mind. First, you will need to make certain that you have
all of the parts you need. Some systems use different parts, which can
affect the final costs of the overall system. On account of this, you will
want to make certain that you have everything that you need in order to run
the system safely.
Once you have purchased your CO2 Air systems and have had the time to
install them, you will need to make certain that you have a place where you
can fill the canisters once they are empty. While it usually takes quite a
bit of time to empty one of the canisters, you will need to be able to fill
the canisters or purchase new ones before the old one runs out so your
plants will be able to photosynthesize. If you take the time and care to
ensure you have a canister available at all times, you should be able to
keep a beautiful planted aquarium with little hassle.
