Beta Fish Care.

When you bring aquarium guide home a Betta fish, beta fish care becomes one of your priorities, as you will want your new fish to enjoy a long, happy life. When you get your fish, you need to be aware that you will need to do a regular water change. The Beta is not really very critical about water conditions but still its better to be safe then sorry

The temperature should range somewhere between 69 degrees and 83 degrees, as these fish thrive under these conditions. 80 degrees is optimal, as this is their breeding temperature and they are more active, alert and happy with this temperature water.

The Betta got its name Siamese Fighting Fish not because of its peace loving nature. Never, have more then one male in a tank. They will fight until one dies. On the other hand always make sure always to keep at least two females in the tank. The male will chase the female through the tank to impress her. Give her a colleque so she can have a rest every now and then.

In order to give the best beta fish care to your new friend, you will need to make certain you take the time to feed your fish twice a day. He should be fed a small pinch of food, or 2 to 3 pellets at each feeding. You should also take the effort to remove excess food from his water, as rotting food can lower water quality drastically. Once a week, you should skip a day of feeding so your fish can enjoy good health. This day of fasting gives them the opportunity to settle their digestive system.

One aspect of Betta fish care that you must be aware of is the fact that your fish could catch a disease or be injured. In a case like this, you need to make certain you correctly identify the problem and take steps to fix it. Your local fish store is a good place to get any advice that you need on the resolution of an injury or disease.
