Regent Aquarium filters
If you are searching for a filter, Regent Aquarium filters come in a wide
variety of different types, so that you can get the filtration you require,
regardless of the size of the aquarium that you own. Before you purchase one
of these filters, however, there are a few things that you need to keep in
mind.
First, Regent aquarium filters should only be used on aquariums without
young fry in them. As these are power filters and Bio wheel filters, they
are unacceptable for use in a tank where there are really small specimens
that could be sucked up into the filter and killed.
If you own Regent aquarium filters with bio wheel capability, there is
several things that you should know. First, you need to make certain that
you have all of the parts required to make use of the bio wheel. In many
cases, the Regent filters do not come with the bio wheel pre-installed. On
account of this, you will need to purchase a bio wheel, the bracket and the
two ball bearings required for most of the bio wheel set ups. However, some
of these filters require more parts, or a different type of bio wheel in
order to function properly. If you are wanting to add a bio wheel to your
filter, you need to consult the manual to make certain that you have
everything that you need.
Once you have your Regent aquarium filters installed and operating in your
tank, there are several things that you will need to do in order to get the
most benefit out of the filter. First, you will need to make certain that
you are keeping up on your water changes. As your tank is not a natural
environment, you need to make certain that you are removing all of the
excess waste products from the tank on a weekly basis. Dependent on the
species of fish present within your aquarium, it is possible that you may
need to do water changes on a bi-weekly schedule. In addition to this, you
will also need to clean the motor at least once a month, and take the care
to rinse the filter media in old aquarium water.
If you do all of these things, your Regent aquarium filters should be able
to handle all of your filtration needs within the aquarium, providing a good
environment for your fish.
