Breed Angel Fish
If you want to learn about how to breed fish, and experiment on a species
that is easy to breed, breeding angel fish is the solution for you. In order
to be able to do this, there are several things that you will need. First,
you will need a pair of angel fish. Second, you will need a breeding tank
that will be large enough to house all of the fry.
When you are selecting your pair of angel fish, you need to make certain
that you avoid inbreeding. While you may have two beautiful fish from a set
of fry, angel fish are really sensitive to inbreeding. While you may be able
to get away with one generation of inbreeding, it is advised that you avoid
excessive inbreeding.
Breeding angel fish requires that you have a food source for the fry. Baby
brine shrimp is a commonly used food source, which can be raised very
easily. All you need is an air pump, eggs, salt and soda bottles. When you
are harvesting the baby brine shrimp, however, you will need to make certain
that you rinse the baby brine shrimp, as the salt on them can hurt the angel
fish. You will need to have several baby brine shrimp hatcheries going at
once, as the fry will eat quite a lot when they are young.
An important aspect of breeding angel fish is maintaining water quality. In
order to maintain water quality, you will need to do numerous water changes
on the aquarium. Making use of a sponge filter will prolong the length of
time between changes, but do not completely eliminate the need for these
changes.
If you take the time and effort to make certain that your angel fish have
the proper environment that they need to survive, you should have no
problems keeping your results of breeding angel fish alive and happy. While
it is time consuming, you will be able to reap the rewards of diligence and
patience by seeing your fry grow up to be healthy and strong.
